Olivia is a title sequence design created for a student short film about revenge, fate, and psychological pressure. The sequence uses broken glass, liquid, blood, and fragmented space as visual motifs to create a cold, tense, and restrained visual atmosphere.

“Before Light”
is a concept opening title for the Zigong Lantern Festival. Inspired by the traditional Zou Ma Deng (Carousel Lantern), it turns the rotating lantern into a symbolic stage. At its center, a dancer, the living wick, awakens six panels that portray moments of the Chinese New Year. As the camera pulls back, we realize she has been inside a lantern all along, reminding us that we are not just users of light but part of its culture.

This title sequence visualizes energy as memory, where data, electricity, and human consciousness merge into a single flow of light. Inspired by
Ball Lightning
by Liu Cixin, the story follows Chen, a scientist who witnesses his parents vanish in a mysterious lightning event and dedicates his life to understanding it. As scientific discovery collides with military ambition, the project explores curiosity, loss, and the dangerous power of turning knowledge into a weapon.

SCAD CoMotion is the world’s largest student-led motion graphics conference, bringing together top industry professionals and Motion Media Design students from the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) each year to explore industry trends and exchange creative ideas.

This project explores the boundary between man and machine, questioning if artificial intelligence has the capability to create in the profound sense traditionally ascribed to human artists and craftsmen.
Central to the narrative is the birth of a life form from a mechanical gynoid, leading to critical questions: If we endow AI with the ability to create, how should we interpret its creations when it brings forth life?
Are these entities human? Do they have souls?
If only creations borne of craftsmen and artists are deemed meaningful and ensouled, does that reduce AI-generated life to mere soulless products of industrial-scale production?
